The Miles-Ames Tissue Tek II 4553 is an industry standard cryostat. As a self-contained combination cryostat / microtome, the Tissue Tek II 4553 is used for the preparation, freezing and cutting of frozen tissue sections. The system is composed of a cryostat, an automatic defrost refrigeration chamber, and microtome, a specifically designed machine for cryotechnique.
