The Shandon Cytospin 2 is a versatile and reliable cytocentrifuge for smear preparation. As the first device to employ centrifugal force to isolate and deposit a single layer of cells on slides, the Cytospin 2 centrifuge keeps cellular integrity intact. The Shandon centrifuge has a wide array of applications including cytology, histology, and hematology.

To deliver optimum results quickly and efficiently, the Shandon Cytospin 2 centrifuge incorporates a unique sample chamber assembly, which consists of a microscope slide, a plastic sample chamber, a filter card to act as a blotter, and a patented stainless steel slide clip. This design ensures that optimum pressure is applied to form an effective seal, which controls the rate of absorption.

The Shandon Cytospin 2 is designed with safety in mind. Its unique sealed head prevents aerosoling of potentially harmful specimens during spinning, and operates only if the cover is locked. In the event of an interruption to the power supply, the cover will stay locked while the centrifuge is still rotating.

Additionally, the Shandon Cytospin 2 centrifuge is equipped with a steel shield and a polycarbonate cover, protecting the operator in the event of rotor failure. The low-voltage, wipe-clean control panel is totally sealed from fluid penetration.
