The Thermo Savant FastPrep® 120 Cell Disrupter System is a multi-tube homogenizer and a molecular isolation kit in one. This high-speed model delivers efficient disruption of cell membranes in every use. FastPrep® Extraction Kits are designed for use with FP 120 units, allowing for a wide range of extraction and purification applications to heighten productivity of laboratory facilities.
The FastPrep® 120 system’s control panel includes two control switches, and a digital display for speed and time. Speed range values of up to 6.5 m/sec and run time duration of 1-45 seconds are fully user-programmable. Each unit is equipped with a microprocessor that is capable of accurately measuring time and speed during programmed use.
This cell disrupter is highly capable of simultaneously processing 12 sample tubes at a time. The patented vertical-angular motion utilized by the FP 120 cell disrupter also allows for the uninterrupted lyse of up to 12 samples. The quick reciprocating capability of FP 120 units pulverizes a sample through the use of special lysing matrices from multiple directions at once.
