Molecular Devices EMax® and VMax® ELISA Microplate Readers
Molecular Devices’ EMax® and VMax® Microplate Readers are designed for robust performance. Each unit is capable of delivering reproducible results in every use. EMax® microplate readers are reliable tools for various assay procedures including total protein, endpoint ELISA and endpoint LAL endotoxin. This model can also be used in platelet aggregation studies, cytokine determination and quantitation of cytoproliferation. The VMax® microplate reader builds on the EMax® reader’s competencies by adding applications based on kinetic measurements including enzyme studies and kinetic-based ELISA measurements.
Operators can optimize signal-to-noise ratio with the single-well illuminated design of EMax® and Vmax® readers. Each model is adequately lit with 100% of the available light. An opaque chamber fitted in these models removes stray light for linearity to increase optical density (OD) readings.EMax® and VMax® microplate readersboast of a stationary plate design that ensures high-quality yields. Having the meniscus in place throughout the read process allows for path length consistency. Additional benefits of stationary plate reading include decreased moving parts. This feature also contributes to a robust mean time between failure (MTBF) of 20,000 hours.
The SoftMax® Pro Microplate Data Analysis Software installed in the readers offers integrated instrument control and data analysis for computers running on Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Users can present data as gray scales, kinetic plots or reaction rates using this software. Curve fitting routines and statistical analysis are also included.
