Beckman L8-70M Floor Model Ultra Centrifuge

The Beckman L8M is a microprocessor controlled preparative ultracentrifuge used to generate centrifugal forces for the separation of particles, The Beckman L8M ultracentrifuge can work with many of the Beckman family of ultracentrifuge rotors with exception to type 15, 35 and 42.1

The Beckman L8M features the ultra-smooth variable-frequency induction drive; dual program memory; dual purpose digital displays; touch switch's numeric keypad; programmed operation and 10 deceleration profiles.

A digital display, indicates vacuum level, rotor speed, rotor temperature, run time remaining or elapsed , and accumulated centrifugal effect (ω2t). Actual operation conditions of the instrument are displayed unless either the system is in input mode, or display toggle is set away from display mode. IN this case the selected values for the run show for 5 seconds.

The Beckman L8-70M and the L8M series in general, features touch switches which operate with light finger pressure. An audible beep and green LED indicator signals when each switch is activated. LEDs also signal when the instrument reaches set values during the operational run.

The Beckman L8-70M ultracentrifuge has 3 modes of operation, manual, automatic and programmed. In manual mode, the L8-70M will run all individual run conditions which the user has specified prior to initiating the run. In automatic mode, a run can be repeated in sequence without having to re-enter any run parameters. In the Beckman L8M's programmed operation, exact duplications of runs can be executed at any time. Programmed operation utilized the Beckman L8M series' Memory-Pac™ storage module.

Dual Program

The Beckman L8-70M ultracentrifuge and moreover the L8M series of ultracentrifuges feature a dual program function. Dual Program permits the entry of two sets of run conditions which are then carried out in sequence. This feature is particularly useful if you require delayed start runs.

The L8M series of ultracentrifuge provides 9 slow acceleration profiles for greater protection of the gradient and sample-to-gradient interfaces and 10 slow deceleration profiles for integrity of separations.
