The complete system makes setup very simple. The basic flash chromatography system consists of a flash 300ml pump. Model VUV 14 fixed wavelengh UV/Vis detector with prep flow cell and a hand held keypad gradient controller. For further convenience- add a fraction collector to automate your Flash system and a data system to record the results.

During operation- the Flash 300 pump LED displays the current flow rate. The keypad allows you to set up gradient methods quickly. The detector LED displays absorbance and the 1-mm path length allows you to keep preparative runs within scale.

High Performance at an Affordable Price

The proven single-piston design gives the Flash 300 the performance beyond any currently available flash pumps with an upper pressure limit of 200psi.

Pump

The Flash 300 Pump provides reproducible gradients to 300 mL/min. at 200 psi in an economical package. In the isocratic mode the pump can operate at 300ml/min and 200psi. The pump can be used in many applications. The choice of Stainless Steel or PEEK fluid paths makes the pump ideal for applications as diverse as protein purification or petroleum.

Detector

The VUV 14 Fixed Wavelength Detector features high sensitivity with selectable absorbance ranges from 0.0005 to 4.0 AUFS. Unique fiber optics and proprietary circuits ensure low-noise- low-drift performance. A pre-aligned 254 nm mercury (Hg) lamp is standard. The Prep flow cell- suitable for flow rates to 1 L/min- is rated to 1000 psi. Other wavelength options are available upon request. The analog output of the detector may be hooked up to any data collection system. PeakSimple provides reliable data acquisition at an economical price.

Control of the Pumps Could Not Be Easier

The System Control Unit (SCU) provides control of the gradient program- run duration- and number of repeating cycles. It can store 10 gradient methods- link to shutdown method- and receive an external start command (TTL/contact closure) from the injector or data system.

Data Acquisition Upgrade

You can upgrade your Flash 300 system by adding single-channel Peak Simple data acquisition software. PeakSimple includes many convenient features including baseline subtraction- chromatogram overlay- peak alarms- report generation- multi-level calibrations- data smoothing- click-and-drag retention windows- and batch reprocessing.

With PeakSimple- no hardware is installed in your computer. An external high-resolution A/D interface box communicates through an available (9-pin) serial port of the PC. To keep bench space requirements to a minimum- you can even use a small portable notebook instead of a full-sized computer. The complete system requires only 20 horizontal inches (51 cm) of space!
