The HP 6890 is an Agilent Gas Chromatograph designed to replace the HP 5890 which is the older model. This newer 6890 GC system delivers high levels of performance and features an electronic pneumatics control of all flows and gas pressures. HP Agilent 6890 has on-board sensors that automatically compensate for ambient temperature changes and barometric pressure differences to routinely achieve and produce more accurate and reproducible results. The EPC (Electronic Pneumatics Control) feature of the HP Agilent 6890 improves the laboratory productivity and reduces recalibration frequency. Each EPC unit is optimized for its intended use.

The Agilent 6890 is considered as one of the best (GC) gas chromatograph systems today producing excellent performance for many applications. Overall thermal performance of the Agilent 6890 GC provides optimal chromatography including retention time repeatability, peak symmetry, and retention index accuracy, while allowing for fast GC results. The accurate temperature together with its precise pneumatic control leads to outstanding retention time repeatability, the basis for all chromatographic measurement.
