Optima K series ultracentrifuges
This current model ultracentrifuge can
achieve from 80,000 to 100,000
rpm (model dependent), with centrifugation forces
of up to 802,400g . Speed control accuracy is +/- 20 rpm of set point. And
the microprocessor based design permits storage of up to 9 user programs, in
addition to its ten proprietary Efficient Sedimentation Programs
(used for maximizing CsCl runs in a minimum amount of time)..The
model number designates top speed, ie., XL 90 means 90,000 rpm, XL 80,
80,000 rpm, etc.

ESP™ (Efficient Sedimentation
Program) available on Optima XL. Software that graphically simulates
and optimizes separations for specified rotors/tubes/samples, stores
parameters in memory and controls the instrument
|
 |
Built-in rotor and tube catalog and
intelligent logging software (XL Series) |
 |
Rotor-to-rotor calculation and
conversion, to achieve run duplication in your own rotor and tubes
(XL Series) |
 |
Quickly and easily convert run
parameters from any protocol to match your rotor and sample volume. |

K series simply
means it has a new 'look' , ie., rounded curved front, but with the
same technology inside as the non "K' series |

Beckman Optima Series Ultracentrifuges
This
state-of-the-art Optima Series ultracentrifuge line is able to
reliably serve your lab for as long as you'll be there. Why?
Beckman's' unsurpassed Optima series technology includes a vacuum
encased induction drive- the first of its kind in the world.
Virtually NO friction means years of reliable performance for you
and your lab. Next, the refrigeration system is thermoelectric.
Hi tech means no CFC's. The vacuum system is moisture purging
and thereby drastically reduces maintenance. Bottom line -
service engineer calls are a rarity! The Optima Line comes in
3 flavors; the economical LE 80, the L series, and the 'Mercedes'
-the XL series with all the 'bells and whistles'.
Did you know that all ultracentrifuges
must be professionally installed. At GMI this is part of what
we provide!
Let the buyer beware!
Are you soliciting quotes from a competitor of GMI's that is NOT
offering training? Are you getting an unusually low price from
a company that cannot offer installation? Is your vendor able
to offer service agreements? If not, you know what PT Barnum said:
"if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is..."
