Perceptive BioSystems Vision Workstation

The VISION Workstation was designed to address the analysis bottleneck and will change the way you purify and analyze biomolecules forever. Adding to the powerful capabilities of the proven BioCAD Workstation introduced by PerSeptive Biosystems in 1992, and utilized by researchers in hundreds of laboratories worldwide, the VISION Workstation integrates purification and analysis for the first time.

For all your Process Development Needs, the VISION Workstation is your Solution

The VISION Workstation has the versatility to perform just about any application you require. The unique combination of hardware and software is designed to have the flexibility to handle applications ranging from purification methods development, to biomolecule analysis, to gram scale purification. No other chromatography system integrates the functions of purification methods development and analysis to address the challenges of today's process development laboratory.

Perceptive BioSystems Vision Workstation
The VISION Workstation is developed around the unique software programming environment introduced on the BioCAD Workstation, now the industry standard for purification methods development. Tasks such as buffer blending and column switching are accomplished automatically. And the entire chromatographic system, including the integrated AFC 2000 Robotic Sample Handling Device, is controlled through the VISION software, eliminating the need to program modules independently.

Screen Different Chemistries to Optimize Selectivity

Often the initial step in developing a new chromatographic method is identifying the optimal column and surface chemistry for the purification or analysis. The VISION Workstation, with the built-in SCOUT Column Selector, offers a new level of automation for either systematic methods development of the routine execution of experiments. With the SCOUT module, you can screen up to eight different surface chemistries to determine the effect of selectivity on a separation. Utilize the SCOUT Column Selector to evaluate any of the 25 POROS surface chemistries, or conventional media if desired. And the SCOUT Column Selector can be used to automate your intial scaling studies, making the job of process development easier than ever.

Programming a development campaign involves writing a base method and then entering the variable into a simple srop-down menu. Here, 7 pH values are entered to be run for a cation exchange campaign.

Using the SCOUT Column Selector on the VISION Workstation, three different POROS columns were screened for the purification of a transcription factor.

pH is another variable which can have a profound effect on a purification. Here, the same transcription factor was run on a POROS QE/M Anion Exchanger at four different pH values to find the optimal resolution.
