Virtually NO friction means years of reliable performance for you and your lab. Next, the refrigeration system is thermoelectric. Hi tech means no CFC's. The vacuum system is moisture purging and thereby drastically reduces maintenance. Bottom line - service engineer calls are a rarity! The Optima Line comes in 3 flavors; the economical LE 80, the L series, and the 'Mercedes' -the XL series with all the 'bells and whistles'.

This current model ultracentrifuge can achieve from 80,000 to 100,000 rpm (model dependent), with centrifugation forces of up to 802,400g . Speed control accuracy is +/- 20 rpm of set point. And the microprocessor based design permits storage of up to 9 user programs, in addition to its ten proprietary Efficient Sedimentation Programs (used for maximizing CsCl runs in a minimum amount of time)..The model number designates top speed, ie., XL 90 means 90,000 rpm, XL 80, 80,000 rpm, etc.
