Complete Product Description

This state-of-the-art Optima L60 ultracentrifuge line is able to reliably serve your lab for as long as you'll be there. Why? Beckman's' unsurpassed Optima series technology includes a frequency controlled vacuum encased induction drive- the first of its kind in the world. Virtually NO friction means years of reliable performance for you and your lab. Next, the refrigeration system is thermoelectric. Hi tech cooling means no Freon or CFC's. The vacuum system is moisture purging and thereby drastically reduces maintenance.

Bottom line - service engineer calls are a rarity! The Optima Line comes in 3 flavors; the economical LE 80, the L series, and the 'Mercedes' -the XL series with all the 'bells and whistles'.

A good match for you Optima L60 might be the classic SW 28 swinging bucket rotor for separation of molecules requiring maximum resolution of sample 'zones' as in rate zonal studies. Since the buckets spin horizontal the longer run times result in superb resolution of sample bands.

Also excellent for forming very compact pellets at the bottom of the tube

Specifications for SW 28:

  • SW 28 Swinging Bucket
  • 28,000 rpm max speed
  • 141,000 x g max g force
  • k factor =246
  • 75.3 mm
  • Aluminum rotor with titanium buckets
  • 231 mL max capacity
  • 6 x 38.5 mL (# of tubes x volume)
