Complete Product Description

Beckman Airfuge Air Driven UltracentrifugeThe Beckman Airfuge air-driven compact ultracentrifuge is a convenient and versatile bench top unit. The Airfuge can use a variety of rotors which makes it ideal for application such as sample preparation for electron microscopy, lipoprotein assays, receptor-binding studies, chylomicron studies, and clarification of lipemic samples.

Beckman Airfuge Air Driven UltracentrifugeThe Beckman Airfuge is a turbine-driven centrifuge hence the name Airfuge. It delivers results in a fraction of the time that a larger units would. The high g-force and short path length combination produces remarkably short run times. For advanced speed readouts, an optional digital speed readout accessory is available. Five minute increments can be timed from 0-300 minutes and there is a "Hold" button for longer runs.

Beckman Airfuge Air Driven UltracentrifugeThe rotors operate at certain temperatures at few degrees above ambient while the speed is regulated by air pressure and braking is through the process of coasting followed by friction braking by the engagement of the brake pin.

This 'classic' is recognized as the ultimate small volume pelleting tool. Also perfect for clarification of biological samples such as sera prior to other analysis. Can be used to pellet or sediment any material that can be pelleted in an conventional ultracentrifuge but in a fraction of the time. Ultra convenient since only a pressurized air (42 psig) source is required to drive the rotor to speeds up to 100,000 rpm! WOW! Run time is incredibly short due to the very small distance that particles have to travel to the tube wall and due to incredibly short acceleration times. It takes about 30 seconds for the rotor to reach full speed.

We can supply rotors according to your applications. As rotors are application dependent, please inquire.
