The Agilent HP 5970 Mass Spectrometer is designed for use with a variety of Gas Chromatographs and is a standalone capillary detector. This system is compact and portable and operates on standard 120 volt power with no cooling water or compressed air required.

Software on the data systems includes programs which calibrate mass alignment, automatically adjust voltages in the ion source and control scanning of the mass analyzer. Data acquisition programs allow the operator to monitor the total ion current, monitor several ions in the selected ion monitoring mode or to automatically storing the mass spectra of GC peaks as they elute.

Data editing programs provide for, tabulating spectra, searching spectra libraries and plotting the mass spectra.
